Johnny’s barbershop to close after 1-year lease deal

NEW YORK — Johnny’s bar, a fixture in the neighborhood since it opened in the late 1950s, will close its doors after 1 1/2 years after it reached an agreement with its landlord to keep the store open.

The barbers and hairstylists shop in the former Johnson & Johnson building, a historic landmark in Queens, will be closed at noon Tuesday, according to its website.

The deal is for the barbers to lease the building, and for the owners of the Johnson &amps to lease it.

The store is owned by Johnny’s Barbershop, which also sells hair products and accessories.

The Johnson &ams have operated the bar for more than 30 years.
