Alpharetti Barbershop, one of the top barbershops in Atlanta, is closing its doors after 35 years.
It’s been in business for 20 years and its been a fixture on Atlanta’s northside.
The barbers shop has been in the city since it opened in 1966.
Its a barbers’ barbers chair that’s been around since the 1960s.
I love this shop because of the history of the shop and its place in our city.
It has been a part of the fabric of our city for a long time.
We have people from every walk of life come in, go out, and spend time here and there.
We’re a barbershop for all people and it’s been an integral part of Atlanta.
But this is a difficult decision to make, said Alph, who has worked at the shop since it was opened.
Alph is a retired barber, he is now a retired teacher.
He and his wife, Linda, have a daughter and two grandchildren.
The family has been through a lot.
They have been through four divorces, and he has lost three of his sons.
He is the oldest of five sons.
I just couldn’t be happier for the community, said Linda.
I’m just thrilled to see all the people that work here.
I don’t have to go anywhere else.
We know we’re going to be doing the same thing for a very long time, and that’s a great feeling.
